GCC and non-GCC are employer-context planning scenarios, not a salary guarantee. GCC values use transparent role-family assumptions and are unavailable when a comparable GCC role has not been mapped. Read the methodology.

Methodology & responsible use

These bands are editorial scenarios for initial hiring discussions, not quotes, placement data or a compensation survey for every listed role. Review the assumptions before using a number in an advertisement.

How are ranges constructed?

The non-GCC column starts from broad, mixed-employer family-level India CTC planning scenarios in the earlier Intris edition. GCC columns are transparent, modelled role-family adjustments that vary with career stage (about 2–16% in this illustrative calculator). These adjustments are editorial assumptions, NOT observed GCC premiums, salary survey percentiles, reported increments, or verified pay for any employer. Some employer contexts are not comparable, and unmapped roles display N/A. Compare actual job scope, city, fixed versus variable CTC, finance-process maturity, overseas reporting requirements and manager responsibility before quoting a salary.

Qualified CA versus other credentials

For a qualified CA, Fresher means newly qualified; 1–2, 2–5, 5–8 and 8+ indicate post-qualification experience. Articleship is not counted as post-qualification experience. For other qualifications, bands refer to relevant professional experience. Other qualifications may include B.Com, M.Com, MBA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, EA, CA Inter, or specialist certifications. A CPA/EA in US tax should not be automatically treated as a lower-skilled alternative to an Indian CA.

GCC versus non-GCC scope and seniority

GCC: Captive/global capability-centre finance functions; the work may range from transaction processing to controllership, tax centres of excellence, analytics and business partnering. Non-GCC: A mixed planning baseline for Indian enterprises, professional services, audit/tax firms and third-party KPO/BPO providers, NOT an exact peer group. The matrix does not assume every role exists in every GCC. The GCC version of a group CFO is not a like-for-like appointment, so GCC CFO is marked N/A. A GCC Finance Director should be validated against the centre’s actual finance authority. For role families with no GCC role mapping, the GCC scenario is N/A. There is no universal GCC pay premium and the illustrative model does not establish a market difference.

Seniority and role eligibility

CFO, Finance Director, manager and senior positions are not entry-level appointments. Where a role is senior-only, earlier bands are N/A. The 8+ category is very broad and leadership compensation must be recalibrated for P&L scale, sector and actual authority. Statutory sign-off and regulated duties are subject to credential and eligibility requirements.

Sources & checks

Context references: Michael Page India salary benchmarking tool (placement and advertised-role context); ICAI Aug–Sep 2025 campus report (a distinct newly-qualified-CA cohort, not every fresher or employer); Intris finance recruitment scope; and selected US-tax India job advertisements (examples, not market averages). GCC context sources: EY Future of Pay 2026 (pay increments and skills context, not role premiums); ACCA Global: finance in India GCCs (work-scope differentiation); Vahura Finance Compensation & Hiring Trends 2025 (market context). Different sources cover different populations, salary definitions and periods. They do not measure, or independently validate, the role-by-role figures or GCC adjustments here.

What is excluded from budget?

Figures are employee annual cost-to-company scenarios, not monthly take-home, base salary or total employer budget. The planner excludes recruitment fees, sign-on bonus outside CTC, retention payouts, agency costs, relocation, training and other recruitment overheads. City is descriptive only: no location multiplier is applied. Employer context changes the modelled annual employee-CTC band, but not a verified market quote. If both contexts are chosen, the planner presents two separate totals rather than silently blending them.
